PACPOA event went well yesterday. The attendees enjoyed Ofest from Buddy, John and Nanci. We also served 2 Blondes from Kellie, Citra IPA from Paul Oatmeal Stout & Cream ale from me.
Joann & I also had mead for the Party. Thanks to all the brewers and those who helped load & unload and set up. Hopefully we will be back next year.
At this time we have only 5 RSVP for the mtg. We will sample Oktoberfest beers. Bring what you can find. Bring an amount based on number of RSVPs. Let me know what you have ASAP to avoid multiple of the same thing. check local breweries.
Please RSVP by noon Sat. I have to order food. Number of wings & nachos will be based on number of RSVPs.
Saturday-PACPOA Oktoberfest. We have room for 2 more "helpers" if anyone else wants to attend.
At this time we have 10 kegs of beer and 6 meads for the event. Sunday-Monthly meeting at O'Rileys downtown Palafox St. Meet upstairs at 4. Those attending should bring a sample of Oktoberfest beer. Please let me know what brand you will bring. Watch for how many RSVPs to know how much to bring. Any commercial brand is welcome. Growler from a local brewery is good. Homebrew is OK. Club will buy pitcher of what the bar has, which will probably be Sam Adams. Please RSVP in advance, I will need to order wings nachos on Friday afternoon about 1 pm. Saturday Oct 23-Those who ordered honey from Neil will need to make arrangements to pick it up at my house at a time TBD
Saturday Oct 30- Fall cook out at my house. We have adequate funds to have the whole beef tender loins again. Party starts at 3 pm. Bring a side. We will also do the Oktoberfest SOM comp at the party. Have 2 entries at this time. You can start RSVP now if you want to.
For those of you who have not heard the news yet, we lost Frank Ballero yesterday morning.
Frank was an amazing force in our club and will never be replaced. I just have no words for how sad I am to make this announcement. Tomorrow we will celebrate his life at the club meeting.
Winos mtg last night went well. Plenty of food and mead, wine, and beer. Hope everybody made it home OK. Do we have a volunteer to host the November meeting? Let me know ASAP. The club will reimburse the host up to $50 for food. The date would be Nov 13th.
Our next event will be Oct 16th. This is the PACPOA Oktoberfest at the chiefs club NAS. If anyone else wants to provide AB for the event, please let me know. We need a list of beers ASAP. If you want to help with the event, let me know.
Other October events 17th-meeting at O'Rileys. We will resume our annual Oktoberfest sampling 30th-Fall cookout. SOM comp will be Oktoberfest. Have 2 entries so far. Any more???
FYI-the gumbo cook off was canceled & rescheduled for April 9th, 2022. Other upcoming events Nov 6th-Teach someone to Homebrew Day at Gary's Dec 11th-Christmas party.
Meeting today at 4 my house. Come in the garage. if the weather is ok we will have AB outside. Garage box has cream ale, Braggot, pale ale, oat meal stout, root beer & blueberry fizz on tap. If you did not RSVP its OK to come. In other news, the Gumbo cook off has been canceled for 2021. Set for April 9, 2022 I still have a bunch of Night blooming Cereius if anybody wants one or more just help yourself. They are in the green house. Take as many as you want.
